Smith Commons Dining Room & Public House is a three-story neighborhood bistro on the H St. NE corridor in the Atlas Arts District. With an international menu of approachable cuisine, and an array of craft beers, wines and cocktails at three bars, Smith Commons offers something for every palate. The well-honed interiors, seasonal outdoor patios, regular exciting events and eclectic music welcome Smiths of any name, and friends nightly.

The three-story neighborhood bistro features a main dining room and main bar on the first floor and “the commons” — or public house — on levels two and three, with outdoor patios, individual bars, and dining tables. Level three is also available for private events and celebrations for up to 40 guests and must be reserved in advance. Contact us for more information.

 

Carlos Delgado
Executive Chef

Carlos Delgado currently serves as Executive Chef at Smith Commons. This rising star on the Washington, D.C., culinary scene develops all menus and recipes for the restaurant and delights in sharing his creations with guests.

Previously, Delgado worked under renowned chefs Brian Murphy and Brian Voltaggio at Policy and Volt, respectively. Delgado also honed his skills at Ferran Adrià’s internationally acclaimed El Bulli and Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s J&G Steakhouse, among others.

Delgado studied Culinary Arts at the Art Institute of Washington. Originally from Peru, Delgado discovered his passion for cooking at a young age under the tutelage of his grandmother, whom he considers an inspiration.
