In today’s Washington Post, Food Critic, Tom Sietsema, offered readers an account of his “First Bite,” at Smith Commons.  Apparently the public house décor is so inviting, that Sietsema is getting ready to move in. Now that’s what we call approachable.

From Friday, February 11 to Monday, February 14 Smith Commons will offer a Valentine’s Day prix fixe dining experience with an optional wine pairing. For $70 per person, enjoy a four-course dining experience, including some of our most popular entrees like the Marcho Farm Veal Porterhouse or the ½ Grilled Maine Lobster. Add the wine pairing for $25 to indulge in palate pleasers like Thibaut-Janisson ‘Fizz’ Blanc de Chardonnay and Horton Vineyards ‘Xoco’ Chocolate Dessert Wine.

Smith Hour – Tuesday through Friday, 5-7pm

As they say, “It’s five o’clock somewhere.” When the clock strikes 5:00 pm on H St. NE, it’s Smith Hour. Every Tuesday through Friday, enjoy $5 selection of cocktails, beer and wines at the bars on all three levels.

Opening Week Menu and Promotion

Smith Commons Dining Room and Public House opens for dinner at 5:00 pm today. Since Smith staff will still have their training wheels on, we are serving a select menu Tuesday through Sunday. As a small, neighborly gesture to thank you for being among the first to visit The Dining Room, guests will receive 25% off final checks, exclusive of alcoholic beverages, tax and gratuity.
