American Craft Beer Week (#ACBW) was started in 2006 to highlight the original products from small-batch breweries. Smith Commons is proud to bring you six of them with special brews and special deals throughout the week. We welcome Oskar Blues, Bell’s Brewery, Dogfish Head, DC Brau, Great Lakes Brewing Company and Flying Dog Brewery to the restaurant to celebrate three special brews from each brewery, and to highlight their great contributions to the American adult malty beverage landscape. Checkout all of the details here.
On Thursday, March 3 Smith Commons will host “Rickeys, Riots & Retail: An H Street History Experience.” Guests will hear the rich story behind one of Washington’s most historic neighborhoods while sipping on famous DC cocktail, “The Joe Rickey” thought to have originated in the H Street Corridor. In addition to a rare slideshow on the area, Smith Commons will touch upon the building’s unique history. The event runs from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
In today’s Washington Post, Food Critic, Tom Sietsema, offered readers an account of his “First Bite,” at Smith Commons. Apparently the public house décor is so inviting, that Sietsema is getting ready to move in. Now that’s what we call approachable.
As they say, “It’s five o’clock somewhere.” When the clock strikes 5:00 pm on H St. NE, it’s Smith Hour. Every Tuesday through Friday, enjoy $5 selection of cocktails, beer and wines at the bars on all three levels.
This Friday, join Smith Commons for complimentary bar snacks from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. Why? Well, if a “Friday five o’clocktail” isn’t enticing enough, can’t we all agree that enjoying great food and drink at a good value is something everyone has in common?
